Couples Hotel Room Massage: A Massage for Two in Bangkok

Napaporn Chaiyasit7 min read
Couple receiving a side-by-side in-room massage from two licensed Thai therapists in a Bangkok hotel room

A couples hotel room massage means two therapists coming to your Bangkok hotel room and massaging both of you at the same time, side by side on your own bed. They bring the fresh sheets, towels, and oils with them, so there is nothing to set up and nowhere to travel to. Prices are per person, which makes a massage for two simply double: 2,000 baht for two 60-minute traditional Thai sessions, or 2,400 baht for two oil massages.

You do not both have to choose the same treatment, and you do not need a suite. A standard room with a king bed is enough. This guide covers how the session actually runs, what it costs, what to expect if it is your first time, and the couple of situations where booking two separate sessions makes more sense.

How a massage for two works in your room

Two therapists arrive together, usually within about 30 minutes of you messaging. They set up in a few minutes and start at the same time, so you both finish together.

The work happens on your own bed. A king bed fits two people lying side by side comfortably, and each therapist takes one side and works on her own guest. Fresh sheets go down first, and each therapist brings her own towels and oils. There is no massage table, which is the part that surprises people most: nothing bulky comes into the room, and nothing needs rearranging.

If your room has two single beds, that works just as well and gives each of you a surface to yourself. Mention your bed setup when you book if you are not sure it will suit.

Bangkok hotels are used to guests booking a treatment for two, so this is a routine request rather than an unusual one.

What a couples massage costs in Bangkok

Prices are per person and flat, so working out the total is easy: double the single rate. Nothing is added for sending two therapists rather than one, and travel to your hotel is included.

TreatmentPer person, 60 minTwo people, 60 min
Traditional Thai฿1,000฿2,000
Swedish relaxation฿1,000฿2,000
Aromatherapy oil฿1,200฿2,400
Deep tissue฿1,400฿2,800

Longer sessions work the same way. A 90-minute traditional Thai massage is 1,200 baht each, so 2,400 baht for two. Every treatment and length sits on our pricing page, and the rate you are quoted is the rate you pay.

You do not have to pick the same treatment

This is the part couples tend to get wrong, and it costs them.

There is no rule that both of you take the same thing. One of you can have a traditional Thai massage, all stretching and pressure with your clothes on, while the other has a slow oil massage and barely moves. Different lengths are fine too, though if one books 60 minutes and the other 90, expect to finish half an hour apart.

It matters because two people rarely want the same thing. After a day of walking, one of you may want firm work on tight calves while the other wants to be sent to sleep. Choosing identical treatments just because it feels neater is how one of you ends up with a massage you did not really want. Tell us both preferences when you book, and we send a pair of therapists suited to each.

Four hands is a different treatment entirely

Worth clearing up, because the names sound similar and people book the wrong one.

A four hands massage is two therapists working on one person at the same time, in sync. It is the most intensive treatment on the menu, and it is for a single guest, not a pair.

A couples massage is two therapists working on two people. If what you want is both of you massaged at once, that is a massage for two, and you book it by saying how many people rather than by naming a treatment.

Is it awkward? Usually not

The honest answer is that almost nobody finds it awkward once it starts, though plenty of people worry about it beforehand.

You stay covered the whole time. For Thai massage you are fully clothed in loose garments. For oil treatments you undress only to the level you are comfortable with and stay draped with a towel or sheet, with only the area being worked on uncovered. Many guests keep their underwear on.

Most couples talk for the first few minutes and then stop, because it is genuinely hard to keep a conversation going while someone works on your shoulders. That quiet is the point. If you would rather have no conversation at all, say so when the therapists arrive and they will work in silence.

The other common worry is different pressure preferences, which is not a problem at all. Each therapist works to her own guest, so one of you can ask for firmer and the other for lighter without it affecting the session next to them.

It is not only for romantic couples

Thailand is one of the world's most sought-after destinations for romantic getaways, honeymoons, and weddings, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, so a good share of the people booking this are here for exactly that. It is not a requirement, though. A massage for two is just two people in the same room at the same time, and that covers a lot of pairs.

Friends travelling together book it constantly. So do a mother and daughter, siblings, and colleagues on a work trip who want to unwind without going out. Nothing about the booking assumes a relationship, and nobody will ask. If you are travelling with a friend and both of you are tired, this is simply the efficient way to sort it.

For first-timers, our guide to what to expect from an in-room hotel massage walks through a single session start to finish, and everything in it applies to a booking for two.

Tell us anything that matters before we arrive

Two guests means two sets of health notes, and both matter.

Mention injuries, recent surgery, skin conditions, blood-pressure issues, or any area either of you would rather leave alone. Say it when you book rather than at the door, so we can send the right therapists and they can plan the session.

Pregnancy is the one to flag early. Tell us and we will send a therapist experienced in prenatal work. Cleveland Clinic advises checking with your pregnancy provider first, waiting until after the first trimester, and having the massage in a side-lying position with lighter pressure, since lying face down or flat on your back can affect blood pressure. Your partner can still have whatever treatment they want in the same session.

When two separate sessions make more sense

Booking for two is not automatically the better choice, and it is worth saying so.

If your room is genuinely small, two therapists working around one bed can feel cramped, and you will both enjoy it more scheduled back to back. If one of you wants 90 minutes of deep tissue and the other wants a quick 60-minute wind-down, separate sessions let each of you have the treatment you actually want without watching the clock.

And if one of you simply does not want a massage, do not talk them into it for the symmetry. A massage nobody asked for is not a treat. Book one session, and let the other person read on the balcony.

Book a massage for two

The thing most couples say afterwards is that they should have booked it earlier in the trip rather than saving it for the last night. It is an hour, it happens in the room you are already in, and both of you sleep better for it.

Two licensed therapists can be at your hotel room in about 30 minutes, any day from 10 AM to 2 AM. Message us on WhatsApp or LINE with your hotel, your room number, and the two treatments you want, and we will confirm the pair. You can book in-room massage in Bangkok in a single message.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Two therapists come to your room at the same time and work on both of you side by side on the same bed. They bring fresh sheets, towels, and oils, and lay everything out when they arrive. There is no massage table to set up. A king bed comfortably fits two people lying side by side, which is all the space the session needs.

  • Yes, that is the usual arrangement. Two therapists arrive together and start at the same time, so you finish together too. If your room is small or you would rather not share the space, the sessions can also be scheduled back to back instead, with one of you massaged while the other steps out or relaxes.

  • Prices are per person, so a massage for two is simply double. Two 60-minute traditional Thai massages come to 2,000 baht in total, two aromatherapy oil massages to 2,400 baht, and two deep tissue massages to 2,800 baht. There is no extra charge for sending two therapists instead of one, and no surcharge for travel to your hotel.

  • No. A massage for two suits friends travelling together, a mother and daughter, siblings, or colleagues on a work trip just as well. The booking is simply two people massaged in the same room at the same time. Nothing about it assumes a relationship, and it is a normal request.

  • A standard hotel room with a king bed is enough. The therapists work on the bed itself, so you do not need floor space for equipment or any furniture moved. If your room has two single beds, that works too and gives each of you your own surface. Mention your bed setup when you book if you are unsure.

  • Tell us when you book and we will send a therapist experienced in prenatal massage.
